Andy qualified from Bristol Veterinary School in 1993. After three years in mixed practice he undertook a pathology residency at the Animal Health Trust, followed by a PhD at Bristol in Pathology and Microbiology. Returning to clinical work, Andy has combined general practice with research. Working with APHA and the University of Surrey, research has included Salmonella in livestock and animal feed. Recently, review work on Salmonella in raw companion animal foods and his practice experiences have led him to wider consideration of issues around raw feeding.
