Jane Malyon has run a catering company/wedding venue with her husband and been a business/life coach. However, she began The English Cream Tea Company 12 years ago after meeting an elderly lady who loved the British tradition of afternoon tea but could no longer physically travel to hotels. Jane immediately had a 'lightbulb moment' and created a business that could deliver fresh, deluxe hampers of afternoon tea and treats all over mainland UK. They now have their own range of luxury jams, teas and gifts and supply the public and corporate markets. They also have an events Tea Room in Essex (The Secret Sconery) which opens for special dates or private events. Jane's journey has included gaining a Guinness World Record for Essex for the largest English Cream Tea party in one location. She's given a TEDx talk called How Afternoon Tea Could Save The World (of course it could, she says!)...and written 3 books including an Amazon best selling book: "Scone or Scon(e) - the essential guide to British Afternoon Tea". She is a speaker too for social or corporate events and when not involved in these activities, she spends as much time as possible with their grown sons. Her most recent adventure has involved going viral on TikTok (@afternoonteajane) when her very first video on making teatime sandwiches reached 5 million views in just hours! Now Google says her account has had 870 million views and Jane is a paid influencer!
